Is now the time to spark your inner-artist? From amateur artist to bachelors and masters degrees, Switzerland has the right art school for you. Many classes may be taught in the local language but some classes are available in English. And don’t be discouraged if your local language aren’t perfected yet – art reaches beyond language!

German-Speaking Region:

  • Zurich University of the Arts (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste): It is one of the largest art universities in Europe and offers eight undergraduate degree programs and 10 graduate degree programs. Undergraduate programs offered are art education, dance, design, film, media and art, music, music and movement and theater. Graduate degrees include arts in composition/theory, fine arts and music pedagogy.
  • Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art: With five locations within the city of Lucerne, the school offers nine undergraduate degree programs and two graduate degree programs in Art. Undergraduate degree programs include art and meditation, graphic design, illustration, animation, video, textile design, material design, object design and design management. The two graduate degree programs are design and fine arts.
French-Speaking Section:
  • ECAL University of Art and Design Lausanne: Offers three undergraduate and two graduate degree programs. The undergraduate degree programs offered are fine arts, industrial and product design, and visual communication. The graduate programs offered are film studies and fine arts.
  • The Ecole Cantonale d’Art du Valias (ECAV): Is located in Sierre and offers a Bachelor of Visual Arts undergraduate program and Master of Fine Arts or Master of Graphic Design graduate programs.
