Debate and outrage have erupted in nearby France over the lower parliament’s approval to teach university courses in English. Will incorporating English, the de facto international business and tech language, allow for more students to study in France and for French students to be more prepared for global positions? Some prominent French lawmakers and citizens believe the move will marginalize the French language and may even make it a dead language in the future.
What do you think? Will this harm the local culture and language? Would Switzerland benefit from making English an official language?
